Can tuning a truck that already bears the Rebel name be rebellious? Perhaps, but Ram’s Rebel X concept for the 2015 SEMA show is only as rebellious as a casual perusal of the Mopar accessories catalog. That’s because aside from impressive-looking 35-inch Toyo tires stretched around 17-inch beadlocker rims, a “concept” air suspension, and an equally experimental front skid plate, everything bolted to or stuck on the Rebel X is available in the Mopar parts catalog.

Okay, so, not exactly everything is from the Mopar bin—the copper stitching on the Katzkin leather seats and the steering wheel is color-matched to the exterior, and the black-and-blue sticker package is fresh, too. Otherwise, the X’s tubular side steps, pedal kit, cold-air intake, cat-back exhaust, and Ram Air duct can be purchased by anyone keen on beefing up their V-8–powered (or otherwise) Ram 1500. Do the upgrades transform the Ram 1500 Rebel into a proper Ford F-150 Raptor fighter? Not exactly, but they do showcase the rebellious possibilities hiding in the Mopar catalog. Sort of.
