Tesla is about to officially deliver the first of its Model X crossovers, but one key fact about the new model is out now: it’s range. According to the EPA, owners can expect to travel up to 257 miles on a charge.
-The 257-mile figure is for the Model X 90D, which also nets an EPA rating of 92 MPGe. The more powerful P90D version is rated at 250 miles and 89 MPGe. All-wheel drive—as denoted by the ‘D’ in the model names—is standard with either version. The company had estimated the vehicle’s range at 240 miles.
-Previously revealed specs also show the Model X to have a 155-mph top speed, and a factory-claimed 0-to-60 time of 3.8 seconds—or 3.2 seconds with the available Ludicrous Mode update.

The Model X figures aren’t quite as good those of the Model S with the same, 90-kWh setup. The sedan ratings are 270 miles and 100 MPGe for the all-wheel-drive 90D, and 253 miles and 93 MPGe for the P90D sedan. But then again, the Model S doesn’t seat seven, nor does it have those cool, Falcon Wing rear doors.
